| 内容記述 | l. Wooden-ship bottom paint, which contains l0% of saturated D.D.T. solution (solved in xylol), showed a remarkable anti-fouling effect, especially against to the growth of barnacles and considerable effect to serpula and "Kokemushi", too. 2. D.D.T. showed only the secondary effect in preventing the growth of algae such as ULva and Enieromorpha. And when it was used together with copper-sulfate, the effect continued for about two months, but it showed no such effect in long time utilization. 3. 1t was recognized that D.D.T. can be used as an effective anti-fouling substance instead of mercury compounds. And by using together with another paint which contains some mercury compound, the antifouling effect of D.D.T. increased furthermore than it was used singly, but by such means the preventing effect to the growth of teredo did not increased so much. 4. When crude petroleum was used as the solvent, D.D.T. showed no remarkable anti-fouling effect. 5. Anti-fouling effect of D.D.T. vanished rapidly by "Funatate". |
