| 内容記述 | This paper describes the progress of "Itoman" fisheries and the characteristics of drive-in-net fishery operated by "Itoman" fishermen in Amami Islands, Kagoshima Prefecture, after World War II. Drive-in-net fishery as the main "Itoman" fisheries was introduced to Amami Islands by "Itoman" fishermen at the end of Meiji era and became one of the key commercial fisheries in these areas. After World war II, "Itoman" fisheries have changed their characteristics and converted main drive-in-net fishery into angling fishery according to the changes in socio-economic conditions. The other drive-in-net fishery has changed to industrial system since 1980. It is organized by small numbers of fishermen with kinship and rural relationship. Recently, it's management is facing with difficult problems because of decreasing young fishermen and coastal fisheries resources. | |||||
