As an experimental model, 4-nitroquinoline 1-oxide (4 NQO)-induced rat carcinoma is thought to be excellent. Because it demonstrates obvious organtropic, species and straas specificity in its carcinogenesis. Administration of 4 NQO-solution as drinking water produces oral carcinomas in rats with a high incidence.
