Abdominal X-ray and computer tomography (CT) showed a small bowel obstruction with tumor and the remarkable small bowel dilation of oral side of tumor. After he was admitted to our hospital, conservative therapy by ileus tube was performed. Contrast study through ileus tube revealed a tumor of small bowel from 70cm oral side of colon. Laparoscopic surgery was performed to excise the tumor of small bowel. The laparoscope revealed small bowel tumor with serosal invasion. Histologically, the small bower tumor was diagnosed as cancer. Small bowel cancer is a rare disease and it is often difficult to diagnose, since endoscopy does not reach the small bowel. Laparoscopy was useful to observe the location, appearance of the small bowel tumor and dissemination and liver metastasis. Subsequently, laparoscopic resection of such tumor was carried out.
