In the present study, to achieve this purpose, catalytic coal gasification with steam using a draft tube spouted bed was carried out under the coal feed rate 1kg-coal/h. Two levels of tube-cone clearance (H_D) were employed, that is, H_D=3mm and 6mm. Consequently, it was found that tar was not produced. The production rate and content of hydrogen were about 300cc-NTP/s and 55%, respectively. However, a large amount of nitrogen was observed in annulus exit gas for H_D=6mm.
