The growth of Porphyra in the artificial seawater was ascertained to be inferior to that fostered in natural seawater. (Table 2) 2. In the case the media were supplemented by vitamins, amino acids or by pyloric coeca extract, the growth of Porphyra was promoted markedly. (Table 3) 3.
