Some of these tracheophytes carried a number of epiphytic bryophytes on their stems, branches and leaves. The number of bryophytes detatched from the herbaria was 581 specimens, but these detatched specimens are almost a fragment of gametophyte and do not bear the sexual organ used for identification. The number of specimens identified is only 164 (85 species). In the first part of this paper the species and genus names (where the species name was hard to know) are shown in order of the collection numbers given by Tagawa et al. (1980). The second part shows the list of those species in taxonomical order, with the specimen number of the present auther's herbarium. The present auther is very grateful to Dr. Hiroshi INOUE, National Museum of Science, Tokyo, Dr. Shinske HATTORI and Dr. Masami MIZUTANI, Hattori Botanical Laboratory, Prof. Naofumi KITAGAWA, Nara Education College, Dr. Hiyozi SUZUKI, Prof. emer. Hiroshima University, Dr. Akira NOGUCHI, Prof. emer. Kumamoto University; Dr. Kosaku YAMADA, Matsusaka High School of Mie Prefecture, for their help in the identification of the bryophyte collection by TAGAWA et al.}, pages = {5--32}, title = {Second Supplement (Bryophytes) to "The List of Plants Collected from Papua New Guinea in 1979"}, volume = {3}, year = {} }
