On the other hand, the Japanese give importance to close relationships within the family structure. This contrast may be from the difference in family configuration.\nAbout the apologetic strategies, regardless of the strength of bond among members, Chinese people use more types of strategies than Japanese people. And there are differences in the choice of strategies, even though they are in the same type of unpleasant condition; the \"responsibility approval\" strategy seems to be used most frequently by the Chinese, while the \"explicit apology\" is preferred by the Japanese. It appears that there are different \"expectations\" for apology between Chinese and Japanese society.\nIn previous studies, the stereotypical difference in apology acts between the Japanese and the Chinese has been considered to originate from the polysemy of apology expression.
