The emphasis of this study is placed on the core curriculum for teacher training programs. This is because MEXT needs to establish a new curriculum for English language education from elementary school to high school before 2020 when English education as a regular class subject is introduced to public elementary school nationwide in Japan. This study, therefore, suggests a personal plan for the new curriculum as a core curriculum for teacher training programs from elementary to middle schools.
