種の殻高サイズ頻度分布の季節変動を追うことにより，各々どのような生活史を持つ種であるかを目的とした．本研究の調査対象は，タマキビ科Littorinidae のタマキビLittorina brevicula (Philippi, 1844)，アラレタマキビNodilittorina radiate (Souleyet in Eydoux & Souleyet, 1852)， ヒメウズラタマキビLittoraria intermedia (Philippi, 1846) の3 種である．2017 年12 月から2018 年11 月までの毎月1 回，大潮または中潮の日中の干潮時刻前後に大里川河口の潮間帯上部に位置する石積護岸で調査を行った．毎月各々約50 個体を見つけ取りにて採取した．その後，研究室に持ち帰り，冷凍し乾燥させた後，殻高・殻幅（mm）のサイズ測定を行い，記録した．ヒメウズラタマキビに関しては，生殖腺の観察も同時に行った．サイズ頻度分布から，3 種のうち，タマキビに関しては，6 月から8 月の夏季に新たな個体が新規加入したと考えられるが，残りの2種に関しては，1 年を通してほとんど一定であった．これは，採取の際に個体のサイズが偏ったことやサイズによって生息地が異なる傾向があるといったことが考えられる．生殖腺観察では，卵子は夏季を除く9 ヶ月間で，精子は5 月から7
