For example, in the case of mainland Japan, the introduction of wet rice agriculture during the 9th century BC (Miyamoto 2018, 2019) brought fundamental changes in every aspect of culture and society. this resulted in, for example, the beginning of hierarchical societies for the first time in Japan, eventually leading to the evolution of state societies.\n Archaeologists, anthropologists, and other researchers such as ethnographers and botanists have also paid considerable attention to the transition from hunting, gathering, and fishing to agriculture in the Ryukyu archipelago, located in the southernmost region of Japan. Three distinctive prehistoric cultures appeared in the archipelago during the Holocene epoch: Northern, Central, and Southern Ryukyu cultures. In Northern Ryukyu, written documents state that rice agriculture was practiced during the 7th century AD. In the Central and Southern Ryukyus, archaeological data recovered in the 1960s indicated that agriculture, involving rice, wheat, and barley, was practiced during the Gusuku period. While archaeological data suggest that agriculture began during the Gusuku period, various hypotheses proposed that it began before the Gusuku period. Recent applications of flotation and impression replica analyses have been used as evidence to estimate the timeframes when agriculture began on the archipelago. Based on the latest data, this paper discusses the beginning of agriculture in these three cultural regions.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_6_publisher_23":{"attribute_name":"公開者・出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"鹿児島大学","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"},{"subitem_publisher":"Kagoshima University","subitem_publisher_language":"en"}]},"item_6_source_id_7":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"09160752","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_6_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"NII書誌ID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN10088628","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_6_subject_15":{"attribute_name":"NDC","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"610","subitem_subject_scheme":"NDC"}]},"item_6_version_type_14":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Takamiya, Hiroto","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"141523","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Nakamura, Naoko","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"141524","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2023-01-19"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"South Pacific Studies 41(1-2) pp1-34.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"10.4 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"South Pacific Studies 41(1-2) pp1-34","objectType":"fulltext","url":"https://ir.kagoshima-u.ac.jp/record/16312/files/South Pacific Studies 41(1-2) pp1-34.pdf"},"version_id":"8962fd25-c28f-41d2-98d1-9ee8fdf9cf8d"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"agriculture","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"flotation","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"impression replica analysis","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"the Ryukyu archipelago","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"The Beginning of Agriculture in the Ryukyu Archipelago","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"The Beginning of Agriculture in the Ryukyu Archipelago","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"6","owner":"18","path":["6074","62"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2023-01-19"},"publish_date":"2023-01-19","publish_status":"0","recid":"16312","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["The Beginning of Agriculture in the Ryukyu Archipelago"],"weko_creator_id":"18","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-02-26T00:24:44.879936+00:00"}
