This review synthesizes the existing research on its geology, mineralogy, and geochemistry to elucidate its petrogenetic processes and regional tectonic context. The complex is predominantly composed of calcite, dolomite, and apatite, with minor silicate and oxide phases. Geochemical analyses reveal enrichment in light rare earth elements (LREEs) and significant trace element variability, distinguishing the carbonatites from surrounding metamorphic rocks. Previous studies related to isotopic data, including Sr, Nd, and Pb systems, suggest a mixed mantle and crustal origin, with emplacement during the Late Pan-African orogeny (~475 Ma). The study highlights multiple genesis models, from mantle-derived melts to crustal reworking, underscoring the complex interplay between magmatic and metasomatic processes.
