 note = {The teaching of international understanding today revolves around the acquisition of knowledge，international exchange and simulated experiences mostly with little social participation. Initially this study looks at the current situation of the teaching of international understanding and the problems encountered and then goes on to suggest ideas for curriculum development based on citizenship education.  In Chapter 2，I examine citizenship education both in the UK and Japan.
