 note = {The change of wave height, and setup of the mean water level over a shallow step reef, after breaking at the seaward edge, are investigated experimentally. And waves which attack a seawall located not so far from the edge are examined, as well. The results show that the current evaluation method of the wave height gives underestimated values for the wave on a step reef. So, an empirical method for the estimation of wave height over a step reef is proposed. The behavior of armor blocks, attacked by high breaking wave in front of a seawall on an step reef, is also examined experimentally.},
