Sedimentation potential in the sample sea water collected at those stations was measured in the laboratory later. However, sedimentation potential in the sea water was found to be considerably difficult to measure because of its small magnitude. Therefore, the sedimentation-potential-generating apparatus was improved to increase the sedimentation potential generated in the sea water and to obtain best SN ratio input terminals of detecting amplifire. The apparatus was applied to measure the sedimentation potential in 116 samples of the sea water.
