The contaminated groundwater with nitrate nitrogen is well-known to cause serious problems for human- or animal- health. Damages of nitrate nitrogen are mainly methemoglobinemia (cyanosis) and carcinogenic risk. In this study, autotrophic denitrifying bacteria (Paracoccus denitrificans) were immobilized into the core/shell polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microcapsule used for denitrification. The core/shell PMMA microcapsules immobilized denitrifying bacteria were prepared by the combination of both phase separation and solvent evaporation methods. The particle diameters of the microcapsules were of about from 200 to 500μm. The thickness of PMMA shell was of about 30μm, and the shell had porous structures. In the denitrification experiment, nitrate- or nitrite- nitrogen could be completely reduced to nitrogen gas in the present hydrogen gas at about 18 hours. From this result, we demonstrated that the immobilized denitrifying bacteria have a function to treat the water polluted with nitrate nitrogen.}, pages = {61--66}, title = {脱窒細菌固定化マイクロカプセルを利用したバイオレメディエーション技術の開発}, volume = {45}, year = {2003} }
