Results of an investigation of an area of Amami are analyzed. Amami traditionally includes environmental safeguard consciousness. This consciousness is toward sustainable development in the traditional Amami mountain lifestyle. The black art of Amami came to life out of this consciousness. Amami is 85% forested. There is a great deal of joint ownership of forest in Amami. The traditional agriculture was tied to the ecosystem of the forest. A festival is important for the environmental safeguard consciousness formation of Amami inhabitants. Public works projects on Amami have destroyed the environment in areas. Agriculture public works projects let production wills of farmers retrogress. In the Wadomarityou area, where a public works agricultural project was introduced, self-reliant agriculture production creates high income. It has destroyed agriculture, and the nature of the ecosystem stopping rice production. Education is indispensable for the area's development. There is some success of production of agriculture through education in the area. The Wadomarityou model promotes agriculture production capacity while prizing environmental safeguards. The area devises agriculture within environmental safeguards.
