調査地の総個体数は5年間で40%激減し、減少の主要因として自然遷移もしくは産地極限が考えられた。 2. コロニーは1999年と2004年においても形成されていた。1999年と2004年のコロニーの中心域は約3.5mの距離があった。本種の根や根茎が1年間に70cmも伸びることは考えられないので、2コロニーはその発生源が異なるものであると判断された。コロニーは不連続的にしかもダイナミックに移動したものと考えられた。 3. 1999年のコロニーは2004年には消滅していた。しかも、コロニー内には1本を除けば新しい発生個体は見られなかった。4. 地下にある茎の下部には根以外に珊瑚状の根茎を形成することが明らかになった。菌毬は根と根茎の皮層細胞内に観察され、根茎が菌根共生の主要な器官であることが示唆された。 5. 本種は種子以外にも根茎によっても繁殖することが明らかになった。 6. 着葉数は1～7枚で、平均4枚であった。茎長は葉の枚数の増加とともに長くなり、平均3.2±1.3cmであった。また、花序は葉の枚数が4～5枚以上の固体に見られた。 7.
