 note = {Chemical analyses of silicious rocks from Kuju (Oita prefecture) and Tokachi (Hokkaido) were carried out. Determination of specific gravity，various thermal tests，alkaline and acid solubility tests and X-ray tests were also performed. The alkaline and acid solubility tests，determination of specific gravity were made at various temperatures 200 to 1200°C. As the results，these rocks were found to be composed mainely of amorphous silica，some clay as well as quartz being accompanied withoccasionally.},
