The six investigators who engage themselves in teaching and designing the building structures went to phillipine on september 7, 1990 after about fifty days of the earthquake. On some days of August, we had wanted to make a survey, but the bad political condition and the preferential of rescue extended for one month. We reached MANILA on September 7, and next day visited Department of Civil Engineering, University of the Philippines. We could hear about the casualties from the chairman and some reserchers of the Department who made the survey after ten days from the earthquake 2).
