 note = {In this report, the utilization of water wheels and turbines to the present time in the northern part of the Satsuma Peninsula is described in full and considered especially with respect to the historical and human geo-graphical causes in each area.
It is clear from this research that in Kushikino City, there are, at least, two hundred and two locations of water wheels for pounding gold ore, and in the whole district, thirty seven locations for
rice-polishing or milling, twenty four for producing bone meal, and so on. The number of total locations is three hundred and fifteen. Three water turbines, one Pelton wheel, four over-shot iron wheels, two over-shot wooden wheels and six horizontal wooden wheels now exist.},
