Tilapia,\nSarotherodon mossambicus (PETERS), reared for more than 50 days at a constant water temperature was used in the experiment. When the water temperature was lowered from rearing one, while\nbody temperature slowly changed and became almost same with water temperature at about 30 minutes later, heart rate suddenly decreased and remained low and irregular. After cooling\nfor 30 minutes to 10 hours, the heart rate increased and recovered the initial level only when the\nwater temperature was changed to rearing one.
