The sulphur trade supported the Rrykyu Kingdom, this is th main reason for their keeping territory, and still now belonging to the Okinawa Prefecture. So far, not many researches have looked at its relationship with the Amami Archipelago despite its proximity, especially to the Tokunoeshima Island. We take the opportunity here to put focus on this as the history was taken into account else where.
