 note = {Recently, in the case of the rural women of Xinjiang Uighur, differences in educational levels have widened. We investigated the situation of women in two areas, Yaru village in Turfan City and Sanpei Farm in Urumqi Prefecture for the purpose of showing clearly the relation between the present condition of a household economy and the low educational level of females in a farm village area. Our investigation in two villages revealed that Uighur rural women still have meager educational opportunities and that low educational levels have deep correlations with early marriage and a high divorce ratio. However female income as a proportion of household income has gradually increased. It became clear that it is important to improve the income opportunities for rural women in Xinjiang.},
