The tumor was homogenously enhanced in the computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging showed low intensity in T１ and iso-intensity in T2. In order to obtain a definite diagnosis and perform adequate treatment, a diagnostic laparoscopy was performed. The resected tumor proved histopathologically to be a unicentric Castleman’s disease with hyaline-vascular type. The post operative course was uneventful and the patient was discharged on postoperative day 8. No recurrence has been detected at 10 months follow-up. It is very difficult to diagnose a small retroperitoneal tumor. The diagnosis was achieved only by the histologic evaluation of the surgical specimen.
