About 10,000 dwelling houses,most of them were poor flimsy wooden houses,were severly damaged and a third of them were completely destroyed. This report mainly based on the observations of our on-the-scene inspection of Oshima-Honto,main island of Amami-gunto,consists of 4 parts : 1st,out-line of Typhoon Daini-Muroto and the resulting damage in Amami-gunto ; 2nd, discription of damage to wooden dwelling houses in detail and some suggestions of typhoon-proof-designs for these houses ; 3rd, discription of damage to wooden and reinforced-concrete school houses ; and last, discussion of relations between damage to houses and surrounding geographical features.}, pages = {129--139}, title = {第2室戸台風による奄美群島の建築物被害について}, volume = {2}, year = {1962} }
