The juvenile characters of both species and their change with growth are listed and figured. Young of both species have the peculier-shaped pectoral fin common in the juvenile of Hirundichthys. This characteristic feature disappears in 6070 mm long specimen in H. oxycephalus, but, on the contrary, is still apparent in 105 mm long specimen in H. speculiger. Difference in the colour pattern on vental fin also clearly divides both species up to 70mm in length. The characters of H. oxycephalus approximately agree with those of H. ajil-nis (GUNTHER) from Atlantic described by Breder (1938) and Bruun (1935).}, pages = {62--72}, title = {トビウオ類の研究 III : 日本産Hirundichthys属のトビウオとその幼期}, volume = {3}, year = {} }
