The effect of medium composition on the growth and the protease production of the strain were investigated. Glucose was recommended as the carbon and energy sources for the strain, while, on the other hand, the metabolic intermediates might cause an enzyme repression. The dissolved oxygen in the broth might be one of the significant factors. Calcium did not show the significant effect on the growth and the protease production in the present case.
