After the sample had been filtered, the residue was dried and weighed, and the filtrate was analyzed for SO_4^<2->,\nCl^-, and water-soluble matter, as well as for pH. The average monthly falling dust at eight locations in Kagoshima City was \n42g･m^<-2>･month^<-1>, which was by \n13g･m^<-2>･month^<-1> higher than that observed in the last fiscal year 1993-1994. However, the value was much lower than that observed in the fiscal year 1992-1993. Thus, it appears that a trend of less falling dust has continued during these two years. The falling weight of water-soluble matter was less than that for the last fiscal year,\nalso.
