The effect of NaCl on preventing thermal death of the organism at 40 C increased in parallel with NaCl concentration of suspending solution up to 8% (1.4 M) . The additional effects of Mg^{++} to Na^+ as well as those of Na^+ to Mg^{++} were observed in preventing the thermal death.
