The residual strain of cantilever subjected to impact load at its free end was measured with foil gage bonded on the compression surface. This value was compared with the value that had been calculated from the Bernoulli-Euler's assumption using the curvature measured from residual deformation of that beam. These experiments were performed on the four cases combined two kinds of gage and two kinds of bond.
