Then, classified the real circumstance of collision between two vessels in the written decision of the Sea Action Inquiry and discussed the value and accuracy of course record in order to contribute to the Sea Action Inquiry. Following results were obtained. 1) It is desirable to be obtained the accuracy of 0.5 degrees when measure the ship’s course. 2) It is desirable that the limit of the time reading accuracy is at seast within 15 seconds.
