The\npresent paper deals with the food value of marine yeast in Artemia and Daphnia culture. The\ntest organisms were fed on several kinds of marine yeast, being cultivated under fixed condition.\nThe food value was determined by the growth and survival rate of the test organisms. The ecological and physiological characters of the test organisms were studied too.\nThe results obtained were as follows;\n1. Some of test marine yeasts were found to have good quality as food of Artemia and Daphnia,\nand their effect was exhibited to be comparable with the effect of phytoplankton to Daphnia\nculture.\n2. The survival rates of Artemia at the copulation time ranged from 10 to 80% according to the\nspecies of marine yeast used as food.\n3. Vitamins, pantothenic acid and folic acid added in culture medium, were effective on the\ngrowth of Artemia.\n4.
