Trypsin, chymotrypsin and dispase were effective in increasing the infectivity titer of ARV more than ten times when titrated into cultured chicken kidney cells. However, papain, carboxypeptidase and thrombin were not effective. The increase in the infectivity titer of ARV by trypsin treatment was prevented by adding a trypsin inhibitor. Based on a filtering test, we hypothesized that the increase in the infectivity titer of ARV by enzyme activities did not depended on the aggregation and dissociation of virions.
