For the study on the distribution and ecology of rhododendrons growing in\nPapua New Guinea, ten quadrats of various sizes were placed on diverse habitats; 3\non the cliffs made by the road excavation, 1 in the Nothofagus forest, 3 in the Miscanthus grassland with shrubs in places, 2 in the Themeda grassland with scattered\nshrubs, and 1 on the site of a landslide.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"2. Plenty of rhododendron seedlings were found on the wet excavated faces\nalong the road. The wet faces were almost covered with bryophytes, and there was\nno bryophyte carpet on the dry faces and no rhododendron seedling. It is uncertain\nwhere the source of seed supply of these rhododendrons was, but it is quite natural\nto think that they come from the adjacent forest epiphyte rhododendrons if there is no\nterrestrial seed source near by. On the landslide site there was a dense mat of bryophytes on the floor in the open Rh.inconspicuum scrub, but rhododendron seedlings were never found.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"3. In the Nothofagus forest on Mt.Kaiap the following three species of rhododendrons were found as epiphyte; Rh.phaeochitum, Rh.dielsianum and Rh.sp. The\nheight of epiphyte position on the trunk was from the ground level to 20m. Epiphyte\nseedlings and adults were frequently found below 10m on the trunk where they can\nreceive radiation much better than on the floor. We never found the terrestrial\nrhododendron in the midst of forests but at forest edges.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"4. On the ground in the low grassland dominated by Themeda australis there\nwere many seedlings of rhododendrons; Rh.zoelleri in the quadrat PNG-6 and Rh.aurigeranum in PNG-10. In the tall grassland of Miscanthus floridulus, however, the seedlings of predominant rhododendrons were seldom found on the ground. This\nmay be because the tall grassland suffers from intermittent fires made by the local\npeople, and adult rhododendrons except the fire-resistant species are burnt.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"5. We suggest that the growth pattern of rhododendrons in relation to the plant\nsuccession is as follows: Seedlings produced in the short grassland grow up to become\nshrub as the grassland develops into tall grassland, but the shrubby rhododendrons\ndisappear from the floor as this tall grassland develops into a forest. In the forest rhododendrons can grow only on the trunks of trees.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_7_publisher_23":{"attribute_name":"公開者・出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"鹿児島大学","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"},{"subitem_publisher":"Kagoshima University","subitem_publisher_language":"en"}]},"item_7_source_id_7":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"03895351","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_7_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"NII書誌ID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00181784","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_7_subject_15":{"attribute_name":"NDC","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"479","subitem_subject_scheme":"NDC"}]},"item_7_version_type_14":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"TAGAWA, Hideo","creatorNameLang":"en"},{"creatorName":"田川, 日出夫","creatorNameLang":"ja"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"110116","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"UESATO, Kenji","creatorNameLang":"en"},{"creatorName":"上里, 健次","creatorNameLang":"ja"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"110117","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"SAKATA, Yusuke","creatorNameLang":"en"},{"creatorName":"坂田, 祐介","creatorNameLang":"ja"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"110118","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"KUNIMOTO, Tadamasa","creatorNameLang":"en"},{"creatorName":"国本, 忠正","creatorNameLang":"ja"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"110119","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"TANAKA, Takayuki","creatorNameLang":"en"},{"creatorName":"田中, 孝幸","creatorNameLang":"ja"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"110120","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2016-10-28"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"AN00181784_v2-1_P123-160.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"32.3 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"AN00181784_v2-1_P123-160.pdf","objectType":"fulltext","url":"https://ir.kagoshima-u.ac.jp/record/8172/files/AN00181784_v2-1_P123-160.pdf"},"version_id":"62fe5924-4f8c-4d36-9307-efbe98a4bfa0"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Distribution and Ecology of Malaysian Rhododendrons in Papua New Guinea","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Distribution and Ecology of Malaysian Rhododendrons in Papua New Guinea","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"7","owner":"18","path":["5378","94"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2013-01-22"},"publish_date":"2013-01-22","publish_status":"0","recid":"8172","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Distribution and Ecology of Malaysian Rhododendrons in Papua New Guinea"],"weko_creator_id":"18","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-06-24T08:43:44.322967+00:00"}
