| 内容記述 | Around the Sakishima Islands, the tuna longline fishery is thriving from April to July every year. Therefore, we report the operational status seen on board the Training Ship Kagoshima Maru from June 2015. It was confirmed that Japanese and Taiwanese fishing boats formed a group and operated in the designated water area in the north of Sakishima Islands. Several fishing boats from both countries set their fishing gear in the same direction. But the major difference in the operation method was the distance of the fishing gear. The distance between Japanese fishing boats was about 4 miles and that between Taiwanese fishing boats was only 1 ～ 1.5 miles, and only Taiwanese fishing boats operated with AIS attached to their fishing gears. |
