| 内容記述 | In order to examine the health effects of Sakurajima volcano activities on children， we conducted a questionnaire survey of school children living in ash-fall and conlrol areas during the period 1991-93. Histories of asthma-like diseases and allergic rhinitis were more prevalent in the children living in ash-fall areas than in control areas. The prevalence of asthma-like diseases was related to SPM concentration while the prevalence of allergic rhinitis was related to the amount of ash-fall and SO_2 concentration. Further studies are necessary to determine the source of SPM and SO_2 in ash-fall area. | |||||
