class="multiple-line">前年度に引き続き鹿児島大学理系学部学生の英語に対する学習傾向、意識について予備調査を行った。調査はアンケートを用いて行い、英語の得意不得意、中学校、高等学校で英語が苦手になった時期、4技能の得意不得意、TOEICに関して理系学生へ回答を求めた。英語が苦手になった時期は中学校では判明しなかったものの、高等学校では中学校と高等学校の過渡期である高校1年の時期に回答が集中した。4技能では学習機会が多い読むことが得意と答える学生が多く、話すこと、聞くことに苦手意識を感じる傾向があった。本研究は今後も引き続き継続して調査研究を行い、21世紀の大学英語教育への指針となることを強く期待している。<br/>日本全国の大学の教養部改組から20年余りが経過し、新たなる大学英語教育の改善が求められ、大学入試においてもほとんどすべての学部において筆記試験による個別入試が実施されている現在、大学学部生の英語学習傾向を正確に把握することは極めて重要であると考えている。</td>
