| 内容記述 | 本研究では，市販忌避剤（植物エキス，木タールおよびオオカミ尿）を飼育下のシカ（Cervus nippon）に提示した際の行動反応を明らかにした。ペレット飼料を入れた飼槽の手前に1）空容器（対照区），2）容器に入れた各種忌避剤（試験区）を吊り下げて提示し，各区での飼育シカ4 頭（雌雄各2 頭，5～6 歳）の採食行動を記録した。対照区では，警戒する個体がみられたが，いずれの個体も提示後7～122 秒で採食を開始した。試験区では，植物エキスに対していずれの個体もほとんど警戒を示さず，提示後6～13 秒で採食を開始した。木タールとオオカミ尿に対しては，対照区と同一個体のみ強い警戒を示し，採食開始までにそれぞれ7～284 秒および10～588 秒要した。しかしながら，採食開始までに要した時間は対照区と試験区の間で差はみられなかった。 以上より，シカは忌避剤の臭いを認識しているものの，採食行動を抑制するものではなく，供試した市販忌避剤のシカに対する防除効果は低い可能性が考えられた。 |

| 内容記述 | This study invest igated the behavioral responses of capt ive sika deer (Cervus nippon) to the presentat ion of commercial repel lents (plant extr act , wood tar, and wol f ur ine) . We suspended 1) an empty container (control group) and 2) containers containing each repel lent (exper imental group) in front of a feed trough containing pel lets and recorded the feeding behavior of four capt ive sika deer ( two males and two females, 5–6 years old) in each treatment group. One sika deer in the control group was alarmed, but al l the individuals star ted to feed wi thin 7 –122 seconds after presentat ion. Al l the individuals in the exper imental group were hardly alarmed by the plant extract , and they star ted to feed wi thin 6–13 seconds after presentat ion. The alarmed individual in the control group showed a strong alarm to wood tar and wol f ur ine and required 7 –284 and 10–588 seconds, respect ively, before feeding. However, there was no signi ficant difference between the control and exper imental groups in the t ime required for each individual to star t feeding. These resul ts suggest that sika deer recognize the odor of repel lents; however, the repel lent did not inhibi t their feeding behavior. Thus, the commercial repel lents tested in this study may not be effect ive in prevent ing sika deer invasion. |
