| 内容記述 | The distribution of vascular plants in schoolyards on Amami-Oshima Island was clarified, and a list of vascular plants growing in schoolyards was compiled as basic data for use as educational materials. A survey of the flora in the schoolyards of 12 elementary and junior high schools on Amami-Oshima Island revealed a total of 762 species of vascular plants. Of these, 312 species were native to Amami, 168 were exotic, and 282 were cultivated. The average number of species identified in one school was 222.3, with the highest number reaching 256. Thus, a large number of plants grew in the school grounds, characterized by the large number of native species and the large number of species constituting the terrestrial forest among the planted trees. Rare plants such as endangered ferns and herbaceous plants were also identified. Based on the above results, there is a high possibility that the study site can be used for learning about the plants around Amami Oshima Island. | |||||
