| 内容記述 | Shimokoshiki-shima island, one of the Koshiki Islands located off northwestern Kagoshima Prefecture, has rock walls and gravel beaches where some species of Luciogobius prefer to live in. However, only Luciogobius grandis has previously been recorded from the island. This paper provides descriptions of seven temperate and subtropical species of Luciogobius collected from Shimokoshiki-shima island. The records include the first adult specimens of Luciogobius sp. 4 sensu Maeda et al., 2008, previously known only from larvae and juveniles from Okinawa-jima island. The specimens of Luciogobius sp. 4 were collected from the gravel beach which has fresh spring, and sometimes co-occurred with Luciogobius grandis. Moreover, four specimens of possible hybrid between temperate species of L. grandis and subtropical species of Luciogobius sp. 4 were collected for the first time as possible hybrid individuals in Luciogobius. In addition to the above species, a single unidentified individual of Luciogobius is collected and characterized by having 12 dorsal-fin rays, 14 anal-fin rays, 11 pectoral-fin rays, sucker-like pelvic fin, 18 + 23 vertebrae, and black pigments forming a single longitudinal row on the lateral surface of the body. Although this unidentified individual is most similar to Luciogobius sp. 11 sensu Shibukawa et al., 2019 in sharing the same numbers of dorsal- and analfin rays and vertebrae, it differs from the latter in the number of pectoral-fin rays, the pectoral-fin shape, and distribution pattern of black pigments. | |||||||||||||
