| 内容記述 | A single specimen (43.3 mm standard length) of Opistognathus flavidus Smith-Vaniz, 2023 (Opistognathidae), distributed in East Asia, was collected by dredge from a depth of 78–82 m in Kagoshima Bay, southern Kyushu, Japan. In Japanese waters, O. flavidus has previously been recorded only from Ehime Prefecture and the East China Sea. Thus, the present specimen, described herein in detail, represents the first record of the species from Kyushu and the new standard Japanese name “Ba-nana-agoamadai” is proposed for the species. | |||||||||||||
