| 内容記述 | A single specimen (44.9 mm standard length) of an estuarine goby, Oligolepis stomias (Smith, 1941), collected from the Iseda-gawa river, Tokushima Prefecture, Shikoku, Japan, represents the first record of the species from the prefecture. The specimen is characterized by the following features: two pairs of sensory pores on snout; smooth shoulder girdle under gill cover; cheek without scales; teeth at sides of jaws directed posteriorly; nape without dermal ridge; upper jaw with three tooth rows; eyes without supraorbital cirrus; anterior nasal pore above lower edge of snout; sensory pores A′ and B located next to anterior and posterior nasal pore, respectively; pointed caudal fin; upper jaw extending beyond posterior edge of eyes; L-shaped wide black band below eyes; and longitudinal five dark spots on lateral side of body. The specimen is likely to be transported by the Kuroshio Current from a more southern region. | |||||
