| 内容記述 | Matsunuma et al. (2024) proposed “Niten-ganzō-birame” for Peudorhombus quinquocellatus Weber and de Beaufort, 1929 as a new standard Japanese name on the basis of a specimen (KAUM–I. 55592, 46.3 mm standard length) from Okinawa-jima island, Ryukyu Islands, Japan. However, the Japanese name was preoccupied by Pseudorhombus neglectus Bleeker, 1865, which was given in “Fishes of the South China Sea (Kyushin et al., 1982)”. Therefore, “Futatsuboshi-ganzō-birame” is proposed here for P. quinquocellatus as a new replacement standard Japanese name. | |||||||||||||
