| 内容記述 | Eight specimens (61.2–329.9 mm standard length) of Pseudorhombus dupliciocellatus Regan, 1905 (Paralichthyidae), distributed in the eastern Indian and western Pacific oceans, were collected from off Amami-oshima, Iheya-jima and Okinawa-jima islands, Ryukyu Islands, Japan, and described here in detail. In Japanese waters, P. dupliciocellatus has previously been recorded from the coasts of the Japan Sea and the East China Sea (from Yamaguchi Prefecture to Satsuma Peninsula, Kagoshima Prefecture), the Pacific coasts of Japan (from Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka Prefecture to Osumi Peninsula, Kagoshima Prefecture), the Seto Inland Sea, Tanega-shima island, the Amami Islands (Amami-oshima and Kakeroma-jima islands), and the Yaeyama Islands. Thus, the specimens from Iheya-jima and Okinawa-jima islands represent the first record of P. dupliciocellatus from the Okinawa Islands. In addition, because the Amami-oshima island record was based only on a photograph, this study represents the first specimen-based record of the species from Amami-oshima island. | |||||||||||||
