| 内容記述 | In this report, utilization of water wheels and turbines from the past to the present time in the northern part of the Oosumi Peninsula is described in full and considered, especially, with respect to the historical and human geographical causes in each area. We found from this research that there are forty locations of water wheels and turbines for ricepolishing or milling, four for producing bone meal, ten for lumbering, five for producing sweet potato starch, twenty five for pumping, four for the generation of electricity, and others. The number of total locations of water wheels and turbines in this district is ninety three. At this time, there are sixteen in use: two water turbines, one Pelton wheel, one middle-shot wooden wheel, and twelve mid-stream wooden wheels. | |||||||||||||
