| 内容記述 | This paper deals with how high schools perceive their surrounding communities, with a view to improving school education on community concerns. As the method of research，questionnaires were sent by mail to all national and public high schools in Japan in 2002. The number of effective recoveries was 2292，a recovely rate of 55.6%. From 2003 to 2004 we conducted interviews on examples of good cooperation，and collected related material such as newspaper reports. The results are as follows; 1. Only half or fewer high schools arranged opportunities for students to learn about their commumty. 2. These opportunities tended to be outside regular school-subject class time. Student council activity was the most common example. | |||||
