| 内容記述 | Iou-torishima (“iou” meaning sulphur and“ tori” meaning bird) is currently an uninhabited island that used to mine sulphur. The sulphur trade supported the Rrykyu Kingdom, this is th main reason for their keeping territory, and still now belonging to the Okinawa Prefecture. So far, not many researches have looked at its relationship with the Amami Archipelago despite its proximity, especially to the Tokunoeshima Island. We take the opportunity here to put focus on this as the history was taken into account else where. This paper summarizes the f ield research conducted on the life traces of island life prior to migration with reference to the comprehensive f ive human environmental elements; livelihood ware. |
