| 内容記述 | この島が無人島化したのは、１９７０年７月末である。なぜ無人島化したかの理由 は、はしけ労働力の確保困難であった。しかしはしけを必要としない公共事業がその直 後から近接島でも始まる。それほど建設困難地であるかを現場で見ると、他の東京の 島々程の困難地ではなかった。離島政策の時代性と地域差を知る大切な場所であること を知った。生活痕跡は色濃く残っていた。その可能な範囲での総括的整理を行った。整 理手法は、人間生活を取り囲む５生活環境要素（十分条件）に従った。 |

| 内容記述 | Gajyajima Island is part of a chain of islands between Kagoshima mainland and Amami Islands. It became an uninhabited island on July 1970 as a result of not being able to secure enough barge laborers. At the same time, construction new harbor which had no use for barges in neighboring islands. We investigated whether infrastructure problem may have led to industries to cease barge and harbour construction, but its state was not as bad as Tokyo Islands where it had difficulties. This island proves to be an important location to investigate remote island policies with respect to the differences and effects of time and region. A comprehensive classification was conducted using 5 livelihood environmental elements which revealed marked life traces remaining. |
