．最新の研究では，初版（1848年２月刊）の刊地は表紙・扉の記載通りでなく，翌３月３日から『宣言』全文を連載した『ドイツ語ロンドン新聞』の印刷所である。同紙社主で実質上の主筆ブラウンシュヴァイク公カール２世は19世紀ドイツで唯一革命によって玉座を追われ，復帰を目指していた。なぜ初版の印刷や連載を許可したのか（同第５・６章）。\n３
